Fishing

You can almost cast from your cabin! Our southern property gate accesses 400 acres of prime water on the Salt Fishing FunRiver for nearly a mile up stream. We also have an onsite boat ramp to access the Salt. Three miles downstream is the convergence of the Greys, Snake, and Salt River. All of these rivers have first class trout fishing. At this convergence is the beginning of Palisades Lake, a 15-mile long reservoir to entertain the lake fisherman. At the far end of the lake, roughly 20 miles, is the beginning of the world famous "South Fork of the Snake". The south fork has a wide variety of hatches and trout species including Browns, Cutthroat, Rainbows, and Hybrids. Explore these rivers on your own, or treat yourself to one of our guided fishing trips.

White Water

White Water

It's closer to us than Jackson! The famous west-table to sheep gulch Snake River white-water section takes out only eight miles from the ranch. The season for this section is from May to September. Trips are easily booked through one of the many whitewater companies in the area. Unguided boat rentals are Also available in Alpine.

Mountains
Elevations reaching 11,000 feet! Surrounding us are the Snake River, Salt River and Wyoming Mountain Ranges. These ranges provide unlimited opportunity for the hunter, hiker, and horseman. Guided hunts and horseback-rides are available through the ranch.

Snowmobiling

Alpine is rated in the "Top 10 places to ride in the West" by Snowwest Magazine. An extensive trail system can be accessed ½ mile from our highway turnoff. The Greys River into the Wyoming range and McCoy Creek into the Caribou National forest can be accessed from this trail system. Hunting

Hunting in the area is world class. Western Wyoming is home to one of the world’s largest elk herds and the Wyoming and Salt River range are home to some of the best mule deer genetics left in the country. Non-typical Outfitters and Barlow Outfitting are both good friends and good choices for hunting outfitters in the area.

Jackson Hole/National Parks

Stay were it’s quiet, drive to the crowds! Jackson hole is an easy 40-mile drive over a recently improved road. Although Jackson is a little crowded in the summer months it is a great place to spend a day. Jackson Hole is home to 100's of fine restaurants, great shopping, and numerous other activities. Jackson Hole is the Gateway to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.

Palisades Lake

Fifteen miles of watersports heaven. Palisades lake is at the core of Alpine's summer recreation. Three public boat ramps provide easy access to this recreation hotspot.
